MARCIA HERREN STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP
The Brown County United Way awards two $500 scholarships annually to graduating seniors that actively demonstrate service in their school and community. This award is named in honor of Marcia Herren.
Marcia was a brown county citizen that exemplified public service and community pride. She was devoted, 100%, to each organization she served. She was particularly fond of fundraisers that supported both St. Mary's Catholic School and Brown County High School. She had a heart for volunteering and served on athletic committess, the Holy Family Parish, the Lions Club, United Way and supported fundraisers of all kinds, including supporting the Christmas Food Basket program. If there was a need, Marcia was there to help. If a person was needed, Marcia was the first to volunteer. She shared of herself and had a beautiful way of encouraging others to serve along with her.
The Marcia Herren scholarship is awarded based on nominations from teachers, clergy and other community members.
